Techcake is a DevOps training institute based in Kannur, Kerala. We exist for one reason: to take people who want a real career in DevOps and put them on the floor with working engineers, not full-time trainers, until they can ship.
The curriculum is designed around what production engineering actually looks like. The 6-month phases are mentored by experienced working engineers. The classes are taught by working practitioners. The institute itself is small enough that every student is known by name.
The institute was started by Jobin Joseph in response to a pattern that had become impossible to ignore in 15+ years of running production cloud systems.
When Jobin founded HAZERCLOUD, his cloud and DevOps company, he started interviewing freshers for entry-level engineering roles, and watched the same gap appear cohort after cohort.
The candidates had certificates. They had completed courses. They had even built portfolio projects. But there was a clear cliff between what most institutes were teaching and what a working DevOps engineer needed to do on day one. The toolchain looked right on paper; the engineering judgment wasn't there.
Techcake is the answer to that gap. A small institute, with a curriculum built backwards from the work, and a project-based training phase that puts students on actual production-grade projects with experienced working engineers.
The model: practitioner-led, partner-directed, project-led. It's deliberately not the largest institute in Kerala. It's deliberately not the cheapest. It's the one where you finish genuinely job-ready, and the alumni who walk out the door tend to keep walking, into the roles they were trying to get to in the first place.
Four rules that have stayed constant since the institute opened.
The people teaching the classes ship code in production every week. The classroom is the place they explain how, not what they do for a living.
The project-based training programs are mentored by experienced working engineers, real companies with real client work. The work is real. The partner is named. Both are verifiable.
We don't offer job guarantees, we don't run "industry training" with no industry partner, and we don't run a course that includes the RHCSA syllabus and call it RHCSA certification.
Batches are intentionally small. Every student is known by name to the faculty and mentor team. Career support is one-to-one, not cohort-broadcast.
Techcake's curriculum is designed by its founder, Jobin Joseph. Direction, hiring of practitioner faculty, and the mentor network all flow from this seat.

AWS-certified architect, 15+ years in production cloud systems.
Jobin designs the Techcake curriculum and sets the technical direction. He has spent 15+ years running real production cloud systems for Indian and international clients. He also runs related engineering ventures whose practical experience feeds back into the Techcake curriculum and mentor pool.
Operations, strategy, and student success, the people who make the institute actually run.

20 years in business leadership, IT consulting, and international trade. Brings strategy, operations, and market growth expertise to Techcake.

Heads day-to-day operations at Techcake, admissions, batch operations, student success, and the systems that keep the institute running. Brings operational discipline and a sharp focus on the student experience from the moment of enquiry to graduation.

Coordinates HR and people operations at Techcake, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and the day-to-day student-facing administration that keeps batches running smoothly.

Guides students on career direction, resume building, and interview readiness as part of Techcake's career support.

Counsels prospective and current students, helping them choose the right program and stay on track toward their goals.
The trainer roster is composed of working DevOps engineers, SRE leads, and AWS architects, practitioners who teach what they did at work that week. New trainers join as cohort sizes scale; the constant is that the people in front of the class ship for a living.

Leads the DevOps program at Techcake, designing and delivering hands-on training across Linux, Docker, CI/CD, AWS, and Terraform.

Leads the Full Stack Development program, mentoring students through real-world frontend, backend, and deployment work.

Leads the Cybersecurity & VAPT program, covering system hardening, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and defensive security practice.
Working engineers from production environments in India and overseas, who join Techcake batches as guest mentors. They review projects, share what the job actually looks like, and connect students into wider industry networks.

Working engineer based in Kuwait. Brings Middle East industry exposure and technical depth to Techcake batches as a guest mentor.

SRE Lead at AirAsia in Malaysia. Mentors students on production reliability engineering and what a senior SRE role actually looks like day-to-day.
The project-based training phases are guided by experienced working engineers, practitioners who ship for a living, not full-time trainers. We keep mentor identities and partner arrangements off public marketing pages until we have written agreement to be named publicly.
The DevOps and Cybersecurity project phases are mentored by working DevOps engineers, SRE leads, and security practitioners with hands-on cloud experience. Mentor reviews happen on Techcake premises.
The Full Stack project phase is mentored by working web engineers with experience shipping client-facing work, frontend, backend, and the integration glue in between.
