AWS training in Kerala: learn AWS inside a DevOps course
If you are searching for AWS training in Kerala, here is the honest answer: Techcake does not run a standalone AWS course. AWS is taught as module 04 of the 4 month DevOps Engineer course and again, at production depth, in three of the six projects of the 10 month DevOps Engineer Career Program. You can join online live from Kochi, Calicut, Trivandrum or Thrissur, or attend the classroom batch at our campus in Taliparamba, Kannur.
Searching for AWS training in Kerala
AWS at Techcake is taught inside a DevOps course, not on its own. This is deliberate, because an AWS course in Kerala that teaches only the console, service by service, produces students who can describe EC2 but cannot ship anything on it.
Look at any DevOps or cloud job posting in Kochi or Trivandrum and you will see the same pattern. The employer wants AWS, and in the same line wants Linux, Docker, a CI/CD tool, Terraform and monitoring. Nobody hires an engineer who knows AWS alone. They hire a DevOps engineer who uses AWS as the place where the pipeline, the containers and the infrastructure code all land.
So when you ask for an AWS course in Kochi or an AWS DevOps course anywhere in Kerala, what we offer is the whole stack with AWS as the fourth and heaviest module. Formerly we did list separate "AWS DevOps Training" and "AWS Cloud Engineer" programmes; both are now folded into the DevOps Engineer course. If what you actually want is a two week certification crash course, we are not the right place, and we will say so on the counsellor call.
What you learn on AWS
You learn the AWS services that a working DevOps engineer touches every week, and you learn them by building, not by watching slides. AWS appears at two levels.
Module 04 of the DevOps Engineer course: AWS Cloud and Infrastructure as Code. After Linux, Docker and CI/CD, you spend the final module on EC2 for compute, VPC for networking, ALB for load balancing, RDS for managed databases, S3 for object storage, IAM for access control, CloudWatch for logs and metrics, and Terraform to define all of it as code. By the end you can stand up a small production-style environment from a Terraform file rather than by clicking.
Career Program Phase 2, projects 4 to 6. In the DevOps Engineer Career Program the 4 month course is Phase 1, and Phase 2 is six months of mentored project-based training on campus. Three of the six projects are AWS-heavy:
- Project 4, AWS Cloud Migration (weeks 13 to 16). Move an application into AWS using EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch and an ALB, the way a client migration is done.
- Project 5, Kubernetes Production Deployment (weeks 17 to 21). Deploy on EKS with Helm charts, an ingress controller and horizontal pod autoscaling.
- Project 6, Infrastructure as Code plus Observability (weeks 22 to 25). Rebuild the environment in Terraform and add Prometheus and Grafana on top.
Those three projects, with the three before them, form the six-project portfolio you take to interviews. If you already have DevOps fundamentals and only want the project phase, the standalone DevOps project-based training covers the same six tracks in Kannur. If you have never used Linux, start with the 3 month Linux System Administration course, because every AWS lab assumes you are comfortable on a terminal.
Modes and cities
You can learn AWS with Techcake from anywhere in Kerala online live, or in person at the Kannur campus. The syllabus and the trainer are the same in every mode.
Online live means you attend the same session as the classroom batch, over a video call, with the same AWS lab environment. It is not a recorded video course. Hybrid means most sessions online plus a few planned campus weeks. Offline means every session at SM Tower, Taliparamba. Phase 2 of the Career Program runs only on campus, so plan for six months in Kannur if you want the project phase.
The city pages cover travel, mode and the local hiring picture: Kochi, the largest IT job market in Kerala, where online live is the default; Calicut, the closest metro to our campus, where hybrid works well; Trivandrum, the Technopark market, online live; and Thrissur, close enough for hybrid. The overview of all modes is on the DevOps training in Kerala page. If you live in Kannur, Kasaragod or Wayanad, visit the campus before you decide.
AWS certification path
AWS certification is separate from the course, and you should plan it as a second step. The course prepares you by making you use the services, which is what the exams test, but the certificate itself comes from AWS.
The exam fees, as published on aws.amazon.com/certification/faqs, are in US dollars:
- Foundational, USD 100: CLF-C02 Cloud Practitioner and AIF-C01 AI Practitioner.
- Associate, USD 150: SAA-C03 Solutions Architect, DVA-C02 Developer, SOA-C02 SysOps Administrator, DEA-C01 Data Engineer and MLA-C01 Machine Learning Engineer.
- Professional, USD 300: SAP-C02 Solutions Architect Professional and DOP-C02 DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Specialty, USD 300: SCS-C03 Security and ANS-C01 Advanced Networking.
AWS does not price exams in rupees; you pay the USD amount converted at the time of payment, so a foundational exam works out to roughly ₹8,500 to ₹9,000 at current rates, which is our approximation and not an AWS figure. Every certification is valid for 3 years. If you fail, you wait 14 days before a retake and pay the full fee again. Once you pass any exam, AWS gives you a 50 percent discount voucher for your next exam or recertification, which you find under the Benefits tab of your AWS Certification Account.
The path we suggest for a DevOps student is Cloud Practitioner if you want an early confidence marker, then Solutions Architect Associate after module 04, then DevOps Engineer Professional once you have a year of work behind you. Techcake sells discounted AWS exam vouchers, and the full breakdown is in AWS certification cost in India.
Can I learn AWS in 3 months?
Yes, you can learn the core AWS services in 3 months, and no, you will not be a job-ready cloud engineer in that time. Both halves are true.
Three months of steady study is enough to understand EC2, VPC, S3, RDS and IAM, to pass Cloud Practitioner and to be close to Solutions Architect Associate. What you will not have is the Linux fluency, the Docker habit and the CI/CD experience that turn AWS knowledge into a deployable skill. That is why our AWS module sits at the end of a 4 month course, and why the Career Program spends another six months building on it. The longer answer is in Can you learn DevOps in 3 months?.
How much does AWS training cost in India?
AWS training in India ranges from free self-paced material to multi-month mentored programmes, and the price is driven by four things: whether sessions are live or recorded, whether there is a real lab environment, how many hours of mentor time you get, and whether project work and career support are included.
Techcake fees and EMI options are shared on a free counsellor call rather than published, because the figure depends on whether you choose the 4 month course or the 10 month programme and which mode you attend. EMI is available. The admissions page explains how enrolment works.
Before you pay anyone, use the free AWS material. AWS Skill Builder has a free tier of self-paced digital courses. AWS Educate is free for students aged 13 and above. AWS Cloud Quest is a role-based game with free content. None of these replace mentored training, but they will tell you within a fortnight whether you enjoy the work.
Who teaches
The curriculum is designed by founder Jobin Joseph, who has more than 15 years of experience running production cloud systems and personally holds the AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Security Specialty and RHCE certifications. Classes are taught by Amitha, Program Lead for DevOps, with 2 years of experience. Phase 2 projects are mentored by working engineers from our industry partner, an AWS consulting company, and by industry mentors Nishad Salam, a working engineer based in Kuwait, and Prajith P, SRE Lead at an airline in Malaysia. Profiles are on the mentors page.
Career support and outcomes
Every student, online or on campus, gets the same five items of career support: a 1-on-1 resume review with a working engineer, a LinkedIn profile rebuild, technical and HR mock interviews that are recorded and debriefed, alumni Slack and WhatsApp groups, and direct referrals through the mentor network. There is no job guarantee, and we are not a pay-after-placement programme.
PayScale lists the average entry-level DevOps Engineer salary in India at ₹4,52,793 per year, with a range of ₹2,39,000 to ₹8,05,000 (PayScale_Engineer/Salary/162a60d0/Entry-Level)). Kerala numbers are in DevOps salary in Kerala. Techcake's Google rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 226 reviews on Google Maps, and student comments are on the reviews page.
