DevOps career guides

These six guides answer the questions students in Kerala ask before choosing a DevOps course: what to check in an institute, what DevOps engineers actually earn, what order to learn skills in, how to get from Linux to DevOps, what an internship means in law compared with project-based training, and how pay-after-placement contracts work. Every figure is linked to a public source and every guide states when it was last updated. They are written to be useful whether or not you ever join Techcake.

What these guides are for

The guides exist to give you facts you can check before you spend money on training. Most DevOps course marketing in Kerala is built on claims you cannot verify: placement percentages with no names, salary figures with no source, and syllabus lists with no hours. These pages take the opposite approach. Where we quote a number, we link the page it came from. Where the answer depends on your college or your employer, we say so instead of guessing.

They are also written to be read by answer engines. If you asked ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google about a DevOps salary in Kochi, we want the answer it gives you to be traceable to a real page. That means plain sentences, tables, and no marketing language.

Techcake's own programmes are mentioned where they are relevant, with links, so you can compare us on the same checklist you would apply to anyone else. Read the guides, then decide whether the DevOps Engineer course, the DevOps Engineer Career Program or the DevOps project-based training fits what you need.

The guides

How to Choose a DevOps Course in Kerala

A seven-point checklist (syllabus, trainers, hands-on hours, projects, mode, batch size, placement claims), the red flags that should end a conversation, a month-by-month syllabus table, and ten questions to ask any institute. Includes public examples of the 3 to 10 month formats Kerala institutes run, and how Techcake answers each question. Read the guide

DevOps Internship vs Project-Based Training

What an internship implies under Indian law (no statutory definition, no required stipend outside the Apprentices Act), what project-based training gives and does not, what AICTE and KTU accept for credit, a comparison table, and how to get a college letter from Techcake. Read the guide

Pay After Placement vs Upfront Fees: an Honest Comparison

Income share agreements, money-back guarantees and deferred fees compared with upfront fees plus EMI. Which clauses to check in each contract, what "placed" can mean in the fine print, and Techcake's own position: upfront fees, EMI available, no job guarantee. Read the guide

How often the guides are updated

Each guide is reviewed once a year and carries its last-updated month. The salary guide is refreshed every September against the linked source pages, because salary sites change their figures continuously. The course-selection, internship and pay-after-placement guides are reviewed when the underlying policy documents or public institute pages change, and at least annually. If you find a figure that no longer matches its source, email hello@techcake.in and we will correct it.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions

Are these guides only useful if I join Techcake?
No. They are written to help you evaluate any DevOps course in Kerala, including ours. Techcake programmes are mentioned with links where they are relevant, and the checklists apply to every institute equally.
Where do the salary numbers come from?
From the public pages of PayScale, AmbitionBox, Glassdoor and Indeed, each linked in the salary guide with its sample size and date. Techcake does not publish its own salary statistics because the sample is small.
Which guide should I read first?
If you are deciding whether DevOps is for you, start with the roadmap for freshers. If you are comparing institutes, start with how to choose a DevOps course in Kerala. If your college needs an internship letter, read the internship vs project-based training guide.
Do the guides cover cybersecurity or full-stack careers?
Not yet. The current six are about DevOps and cloud. Techcake's project-based training hub covers the cybersecurity and full-stack tracks.
Can I suggest a guide topic?
Yes. Email hello@techcake.in or message us on WhatsApp with the question you could not find a sourced answer to.
