DevOps training in Calicut.

Live online batches attended from Kozhikode, and the one city where coming to the Kannur campus regularly is a genuinely reasonable thing to suggest.

How it works from Calicut

Close enough that Hybrid actually works.

Every other city on this site gets an honest warning about travel. Calicut does not need one, and that changes what we recommend.

Kozhikode sits roughly 90 kilometres down the coast from Taliparamba, about two hours by train or road on the same corridor that carries services like the Ernakulam–Kannur Intercity through Kozhikode and Tirur. In practical terms, a Saturday session at the campus costs you a morning and an afternoon rather than a weekend and a hotel booking. It is the only city in this cluster where we will actively suggest that in-person time is worth building into your plan.

That makes Hybrid the mode we point most Calicut students towards. You take the same live evening classes as everyone else, then use occasional campus days for the parts of the syllabus that reward being in a room with a trainer: debugging a broken pipeline over someone’s shoulder, walking through a Terraform plan line by line, or sitting a mock interview face to face. If your week will not allow the travel, Online Live on its own is complete and nothing in the certificate depends on your showing up.

The local IT picture

Calicut’s technology base is smaller than Kochi’s and structured differently. Cyberpark, established by the Government of Kerala in 2009, is the state’s third major IT park and the anchor for the Malabar region. Within it, UL CyberPark was the first IT park building in the Kozhikode region, a LEED Gold-rated campus hosting on the order of 1,200 professionals across about 36 companies.

Those are honest numbers, and they explain the strategy we recommend here. Calicut has a real and growing employer base but not Kochi’s absorption capacity, so the students who do best treat their skills as portable from day one. The AWS and container work in this course is deliberately location-agnostic: it qualifies you for a Cyberpark role, for a Kochi or Bangalore role, and for the remote positions that increasingly hire out of Malabar. Roughly 48 engineering colleges feed talent into this region, so a portfolio that shows shipped infrastructure is what separates you from a cohort with identical degrees.

What we will not claim

There is no Techcake branch in Kozhikode. The campus is in Taliparamba, and the reason Calicut gets a page of its own is proximity, not presence. Everything here is either delivered live online or taught on that campus, two hours away.

Who this fits in Calicut

Built for three kinds of people.

01

Cyberpark and UL CyberPark staff

You work in the Malabar region's IT cluster and want cloud and automation skills that raise your ceiling without forcing a move to Kochi or Bangalore.

02

Graduates from the region's engineering colleges

Dozens of colleges feed this catchment and produce similar CVs. Deployed infrastructure and a working pipeline are what make yours answerable in an interview.

03

Anyone who wants classroom time without relocating

You would rather learn in a room than through a screen, and from Kozhikode that preference is affordable in a way it is not from further south.

Frequently asked

Questions from Calicut.

How often would I realistically travel to the campus?
That is yours to choose. Hybrid students from Kozhikode commonly come for occasional weekend sessions or for specific hands-on blocks, because two hours each way is a day trip rather than an expedition. Some attend more often; others complete the course entirely online.
Is there a Techcake centre in Calicut?
No. Our only campus is at 3rd Floor, SM Tower, Taliparamba, Kannur. Calicut students attend live online or travel to that campus, and we would rather say so plainly than imply a local presence we do not have.
Are batch timings different for Hybrid students?
The live sessions are the same schedule for everyone in a batch. Campus visits are arranged around that, typically on weekends or as agreed blocks, so travel never means missing a class.
Will this help me find work in Kozhikode specifically?
It helps, but be realistic: Cyberpark and UL CyberPark are growing and hire locally, while the wider market for DevOps roles remains larger in Kochi, Bangalore, and remote-first companies. We provide resume work, mock interviews, and referrals, and the skills themselves travel wherever you apply.
