The reason we do it this way is that a typical web development internship for a fresher in Kerala is a few weeks of watching, some copy-paste tasks, and a letter. That letter does not help much when an interviewer asks you to explain a Django model relationship or debug a failing API call. Two shipped projects and a repository you can walk through do help. That is what this programme is designed to produce.

This programme suits three groups. Recent CS and IT graduates who want a backend stack that employers actually hire for; Python and Django are an honest route to a junior developer role. Self-taught developers who have tinkered with Python and want a structured path to becoming a Django developer, with real projects to show for it. And BTech, BCA, and MCA final-year students who want six months of structured work that ends with a capstone on their resume.

You need basic programming logic: variables, loops, conditions, and functions in any language. Python helps but is not required, because Month 1 starts from Python basics. You do not need prior Django, HTML, or database experience. If you have never written a line of code in any language, take a short programming primer first and then apply. You are on campus at SM Tower, Taliparamba, for the six months. A typical week has guided build time on the current month's exercises or project, a scheduled code review where a mentor goes through your work and explains what to change and why, and time for documentation: README files, commit messages, and short write-ups that make your repository readable to someone who has never met you.
Every month ends with a deliverable. In the first four months these are exercises and mini projects. In Months 5 and 6 they are complete, deployed applications.
Month 1: Python and Web Foundations. Python basics (data types, control flow, functions, modules), web fundamentals (HTTP, requests, templates), and a first look at Django: models, views, URLs, and the request and response cycle.
Month 2: Django Development and Mini Projects. Hands-on Django through a series of mini projects: forms, authentication, the admin, the ORM, and the patterns that recur in real applications.
Month 3: Advanced Django. Class-based views, custom middleware, signals, caching, query optimisation, file handling, and the practices that separate a tutorial app from a production one.
Month 4: APIs and Integrations. Designing and building REST APIs with Django REST Framework: authentication, serialisation, third-party integrations, webhooks, and connecting services together.
Month 5: Guided Project. A full Django project, mentor-led from planning to deployment, that pulls everything together into a single reviewed deliverable for your portfolio.
Month 6: Your Own Project. You choose the project. Mentors guide you through scoping, building, debugging, and shipping. The result goes into your portfolio with your name on it and becomes the main thing you talk about in interviews.
The programme is run day to day on campus by a Full Stack mentor from the Techcake roster, which is being updated for the next intake; the counsellor will confirm the mentor on your call. Code reviews are done in person. The wider curriculum across Techcake is designed by founder Jobin Joseph, who has 15 or more years running production cloud systems for Indian and international clients, which is why deployment and production practices are built into the later months rather than left out.
On successful completion, Techcake issues a training completion certificate on its letterhead. It documents the six sessions and the two projects you delivered, and an employer can contact us to verify it.
Your portfolio matters more. You leave with two deployed Django applications, a set of mini projects, and repositories with readable histories. In a junior developer interview, that is what gets you past the first round.
For college students, Techcake also issues a completion letter that colleges can use for project or industry-training credit.
